Closing the borders because of this virus will undoubtedly create a shortage of illegal drugs like heroin and others. So some good will come out of this. but when the addicts can't get their fix there might be other issues to deal with as far as crime and other medical issues related to withdrawal.

The drugs always get thru, no problem there.

240 miles for me, 1 bike, 1 rider, Slow speed spin out in a remote forest road and scraped up my pipe and crash bar. scratch that road off as a possible NWSF route! Did find a good route though, need to get an earlier start next time and get timing down.Sunny all day but it was cold early.

It was a single lane paved forest road with a lot of moss/leaves/dirt in the center and sides. Summertime would probably be dry and no issue, but kinda sketchy.

Ouch Jay! What road was it? Up above Willamina? Comes out in Beaver. That one gets dirty. Hope your o.k. Jenetta and I got in about 120 miles today, didn't get close to anybody.

It was a road off of Lobster Valley Rd, It said 5 rivers and Camp creek 5 and 6 miles up. I missed a turn though. Turns out it was just another route to 5 Rivers road. I should have downloaded an offline map for that area.

Below is a text from my 27 year old daughter who is an RN in Boston and works with the homeless population. She normally works in an outpatient clinic for the homeless, but will likely work additional hours at the covid-19 tent. She has all the PPE she needs including a gown, face mask, face shield and gloves. My 24 year old son is also an RN at a 36 bed hospice facility in Seattle. They disinfect the entire area multiple times per day and have the PPE they need.

We open the doors and took our first patient around 1:20 in the afternoon. The tent is divided into two sides low and high risk. I was on high risk with one of the doctors I usually work with so that was nice. We got three patients on my side and the other side got four patients. Total we can have 16 so I imagine tomorrow they will keep admitting many more. Quite an experience and very bare bones but the tents were warm and each patient has their own bed and blankets and lockbox. Each patient is assigned their own Porta potty outside but they're nice flushing ones. I don't think people were thrilled to be there but some people were sick enough that they just wanted to sleep. They are all separated by partitions and more than 6 feet apart from one another so the idea is that they stay in their little area and there is no intermingling so it should not be spread from person to person since it's only droplet precautions. Was quite the crazy day and I was so exhausted. But kind of cool to be the very first nurses.

That is a very good thing she is doing. Prayers sent for all that are involved putting themselves at risk and helping during this time of crisis.

Shores, my hat is off to your son and daughter.I can relate to what they are doing. My sister is a retired RN and my youngest daughter was also an RN until she got her degree and became a PA. My prayers to your son and daughter so they stay healthy and for all those that are fighting this "invisible enemy" and risking their health.
I will not apologize for being white, being straight or for loving this country.

272 miles of social distancing today. 4 bikes. The closest we got to another person was cars going the other way. Ate sack lunches in a park, Saw a few other people but 100 ft away.
Apparently we will be locked down tomorrow, you can get pulled over and ask why you are not at home and subject to a healthy fine if you don't have a good reason to be out, distanced from others or not. We will see what happens.

If you are out in the middle of nowhere on a bike and not stopping anywhere, whats the problem? Isn't any different than being outside in your backyard as far as spreading or catching the virus.

My nieces' cousin just died here in Wisconsin from Covdi19.
55 year old male, no underlying health issues, from testing positive to his death was a whopping 5 days.
He didn't think it was a big deal either, just started as sniffles that moved to his throat, then lungs.

By the time he realized this was not just a bad cold or bronchitis it was too late.
It absolutely DOES NOT only kill the old & feeble.

How long was he sick before getting tested. The norm here is if you call the hospital they ask how your doing and feeling and then tell you if it gets worse call back. You only get tested if your pretty sick already AND have the right symptoms.

Wow, that's scary! I'm 53 and consider my self pretty healthy but you just never know. I consider it fortunate I'm still working income wise but more risks health wise.
