GPS thingy advice needed

I need one of those GPS thingies to mount on my bike for directions when taking trips. I currently use my phone, but my screen is to small, plus I don't have unlimited date... I need one that is easy to use, can possible design routes on, and on that is easy to put in addresses on the spot. If anyone has any experience with these and can suggest ones to look at i'd appreciate it. I'm thinking that maybe I could put this on my xmas list for my wife, although i'll probably get a $10 gas card LOL

i found garmins are very user friendly. the zumo line is the mc models. i would think those would be fine in the rain but double check that. you can also get a charging dock that mounts to the bars.

If you ride in the rain, get a Garmin Zumo (they are weather resistant IPX6). What you need to look for is the brightness of the screen during sunny days. I have a Garmin 61LM (I never ride in the rain), which I find okay but not the brightess

I have used the Garmin Nuvi for years . The earlier ones have adequate brightness. Problem with the phone is it needs a phone signal to operate... Some places in the western states do not have much of a signal. A ram mount on the handles bars. works very well. Get a auxiliary plug at AZ for power and mount on bike. I have one on the fairing and one under the tank. You can see the top of the unit it in this pic.
