  • Signed My "06 Midnight Title Over

Rode my Roadstar to my brothers house yesterday and signed the title over to him.
He will take good care of her and sez I can ride her when I get the urge.
My shed looks naked without the bike in there.
    Mixed emotions.................

Don't worry..m can always pick up another one cheap...start looking in October (or any year) and if your good at negotiating you will find a nice one for $1500-2500...they dropped a lot in value over the last 12-18 months (as didn't he 98-2010 HD market). These bikes will be practically given away in the next few years.

        Wont be looking for another.
I have a 14 month old daughter and priorities have shifted to toys we can all enjoy at the same time.
Bought a 16 ft aluminum drift boat with a Merc outboard this summer.
Many lakes and rivers where I live.

There's a lot of guys on here that did the same thing you are doing. IMO, unless you are living check to check, it's not necessary to sell your bike when you have kids. I raised two girls, they are both normal and doing well, and through it all I always had at least one bike. There's gonna be times when you need to get out and decompress. At least you still have access to the bike, so that's a big plus. Granted, with kids you won't be knocking down 8 - 10 K miles a year, but it's still possible to get some wind now and then. We had a sidecar rig when my girls were young, and my wife had her own bike. In that way we could all go riding together. So, we all enjoyed riding at the same time. We had a boat too, a 24' Bayliner Buccaneer sail boat, that was another family activity we enjoyed. Plus we did a lot of traveling. We had a big Buick Roadmaster station wagon. Took it from the Texas coast to the Pacific ocean to the Grand Canyon and many points in between. But we used that sidecar rig most of all, it was there, ready to go, and had practical applications as well. I couldn't imagine our lives without motorcycles in them.

Exactly po Bastard...bikes as cheap and long lasting as a Roadstar should just be kept forn those couple times a year you need to get away. I am lucky tonhave room for 3 bikes and a sidecar... sidecar is great for family time....woman on back kid in side car. Just got lake spot and first boat so that will be family fun also. But....I can't imagine not having 1 Roadstar to keep around just in case no matter what else I did.

I got my last one for $1500 and might have $1800 total in it and it's perfect now. Cost next to nothing to insure and plate. Hell all 3 bikes with sidecar, boat and my truck cost about $1450 a year to insure and maybe $500-600 for plates for everything. Indiana is still cheap for that stuff, housing and property taxes ...basically $200/month covers all vehicle plate/registration/insurance for the year. For that price the bikes and boat could stay garaged and untouched for a season and I wouldn't feel like I was wasting $$$

I cannot fathom spending $10k-15k on another used bike much less $20k-50k on a new one and then tons more expense to insure/plate the thing. We are lucky enough to be SMART enough to have Roadstars that are about the cheapest way tonhave a quality big V Twin cruiser around.

Just paid my insurance for the year. $130. Can't go wrong.

Snagged my Roadie for $1100. Was my first bike so I also had to buy gear and tools. Spent about $1000 there. About another $2500 on the bike (New tires and rotors were $$$). Will likely spend another $1000 on the suspension. Then she's pretty much set. Except for the BAK and stainless braided brake lines and the.... wait a minute....

don't have room for the bike in our shed. Been riding since the early 60s. Wont stop riding, just won't have a bike of my own. I can still ride the bike since I sold it to my brother. His uncle has 3 roadsters and one Royal Star. I can also ride any of them when I choose. Brother and his uncle live less than 6 miles from me.
