  • To move and where to move, thats the question.

Thinking about picking up all my stuff and moving, need to find a place that has good jobs to where I can afford my current bills plus housing and such. Let me know whats going on around yalls areas.

Stay the hell away from California! Unless you're 20 something, wear skinny jeans, have a man-bun and a four year degree in computer programming.

That said, my sister in Fla, is thinking about moving to Chattanooga TN. Beautiful country and decent prices in housing; then again *everything* is decent compared to CA... Accept maybe NYC. Seriously though, I've been pondering the same question myself, let me know what you find out.

What kind of work do you do? I'm in Oklahoma now, I moved here from Jacksonville Fl. the cost of living is comfortable in Oklahoma, I'm retired now so unfortunately I can't comment on jobs.

With all the new construction going on here I'm sure you could get good work, there are also 3 Air Force bases and a huge Army base that always have electrician openings

we have jobs up here near Dayton Ohio, but you would be bored to death with that bike up her with all of our straight flat roads
owning a motorcycle is not a matter of life or death, it is much more important than that

Local 3 NYC, you'll make tons of money but will need to live outside the 5 boroughs if you want peace and quiet.

I live in Pittsburgh but if I could I would move near Nashville. I have visited family there and love it. They also tell me Gaitlinburg, Tn is nice too. Any where its warmer in from November to March would suit me just fine. I am not a big fan of winter.

+1 on not being a fan of winter. I like Nashville also, problem being right now so does everyone else and the housing prices and traffic reflect that.

Indianapolis and it’s surrounding areas, especially south end suburbs are great. It’s easy to get around town and we have a lot of big building projects going on. I would assume that would be good getting for electrical work. If you don’t mind the weather when it’s cold, there are many opportunities here for a driven individual. Very affordable and good people.

Thats a good question. I to am planning to move soon. Love to be gone by this August but more likely a year from Jun-Aug. I’m leaving California. Headed east but I need Mountains so I’m thinking somewhere from New Mexico up to Utah. I have family in Oklahoma and Texas. Problem is I really haven’t been anywhere else. Four corners I think might be good. Guess its road trip time.

I lived in Colorado some years back and loved it. I was there for just over a year but that year was 334 days of sun, it got cold but it was always sunny. If all my family wasn’t here in Oregon that’s where I’d probably be. Going back in May with the family on vacation.

become a bank robber, there are banks EVERYWHERE...and if you're not good at it in the beginning and get caught, they send you to a local criminal college for your undergraduate studies then onto the federal institutions for post graduate work...zing dillinger...

ps...if you want to work in my hometown you need to be able to say "do you want fries with that" in at least 3 languages...bon appetit...chef zing...

roadiemort, while a prison guard has a pension and benefits it can in no way equal the earning potential of a good bank robber...if you get caught the guards are your buddies and you can spread around a little of your loot to ease their pain and maybe get you a good cell mate...just a thought...zp...

Lake Charles, Louisiana is booming with petrochemical plant expansion projects. Plenty demand for electrical tradesmen there.

I've lived in Colorado, New Mexico, Missouri, Kansas, and Idaho. I like the mid-west for several reasons. Four distinct seasons, reasonable cost of living, and a stable economy. I don't like the cold much anymore so may eventually move towards Arkansas or Texas at some point if I an talk the wife into it.
