  • Election Day. Been waiting two years myself...

In Washington we vote by mail, so that was days ago for us. But today is it, with what I believe to be the future of our nation at stake. Fingers crossed on the outcome...

It's funny how years ago when we just had paper ballots we were able to get everything counted by midnight. But now that we have gone high tech and corrupt it takes weeks and sometimes months to count all the ballots. We are the only country that subscribes to this nonsense.

I had to lock my piece up in my saddlebag, scan my ID, take my card and stand in line. Stick it in the machine and touch who I wanted to vote for, Print out card and stick it into the machine that took it and I assume count it. This is the first time I have ever used a machine to vote with. I am hopeful, people standing in line to vote, but you just never know where there mind is at. I was shocked by one of my club brothers talking about voting for Beto. I don't trust an Irish guy with a Hispanic nickname...

I am happy to report that apparently the Bikers for Beto group has failed. I truely hope that these bikers find something more worthwhile to do with their lives but at the same time worry that the same states that seemed to have been questionable in past elections are at least consistant. I grew up in Arkansas with a Governor with the initials B.C. You could ask the people you met everyday and no one would claim to have voted for this guy but there he was still in power. I don't want to claim to know anything, seems to be not good for your health and I don't think about the ones that had cabinet appointments that I know. Just an old electrician who remembers a greater United States.

Not allowed on fake book because of censorship? Isn't that special! No censorship here as long as it's civil.

Notice I said the Facebook group. The Road Star Clinic facebook group is essentially a forum just like this one. Thankfully they have enough sense to keep the politics out of it. That has nothing to do with censorship and everything to do with appropriate venue.

hopefully the election results will move the country back on course, it is getting woefully off. FB , a useful tool, is part of the problem. people confuse liberty and freedom with , " i should be able to do what ever I want" . You cant have a country with 300ish million people and not enforce the laws, inside, or at the border.

Pretty sure what we saw with the election was that Trump needs to stay gone. He's two divisive He's too crazy He brings up too many bad memories. If the Republicans want to do well in 2024 with their candidate Trump should not be associated at all. It still hard to understand how Pennsylvania would choose Fetterman who is not only ridiculously stupid but completely incompetent now because of his medical condition. However his opponent is a crazy TV doctor not from Pennsylvania lol.

Well I’m sorry you feel like we can’t have a civil conversation. So far this thread has been respectful with the only negativity coming from you. If you don’t agree with someone’s post you don’t have too that’s fine. Have the conversation maybe you have something to say that may change the minds of others. Unfortunately we have come to a place in this country we’re people can’t have a conversation about this anymore without yelling and name calling. Do I have my specific beliefs absolutely, does that mean I can’t listen to the other side No.

Again if you don’t like this post, fine. Don’t post on it. It’s really that simple. There’s posts that I don’t comment on all the time.

so Sorry if this post has upset you I don’t believe that was the original posters intent…..I believe it was to start a conversation…..

Actually, I posted this because I felt every vote was important, and wanted to remind some folks that it was election day, should they have gotten too busy to remember; something I've done myself in the past. I also know that we have a lot of like-minded folks here on RSC who might just head out to do a little influence-peddling amongst friends and peers to get them to vote as well.

Friends don't have to agree on political choices, but we can certainly share our thoughts together regardless.

I've worked in the past in GOTV (Get Out The Vote) efforts during serious campaigns, most notably the 'Republican Revolution' of 1994', in which I joined ranks with the likes of Kevin McCarthy, the likely next Speaker of the House in the U.S. Congress. I started life as a Democrat, due to my Kennedy-era parents, then went Republican because it better fit my personal values, but left the party years ago when the R's began spending like drunken sailors. I now only state that I'm a conservative, which I am, and don't belong to any political party.

I question the election results in PA and will give it some time to percolate. Not only did they elect a brain-damaged man to the U.S. Senate, known as the deliberative body of the planet, but they re-elected a guy to Congress who literally died a month ago. This is a state who voted for Trump in 2016.

This election has left me dumbfounded. Have people checked their bank accounts? I spent $91on gas the other day filling my SUV. I won't recap the issues, but anyone would have to have been living in a cave to not have seen the destruction of our nation since Biden took possession of the Presidency. I for one don't believe that there's anyway in Hell that the man, who campaigned from his basement, got move votes than any President in U.S. history, over 81 million, in light of the rampant fraud that's been proven time-and-again since the election. 22,500 votes would have gotten Trump elected rather than Biden, if you believe the results tallied.

No reason to go there, but we'll see how these last few races end up. If Republicans take control of both houses of Congress, it'll be a win. They'll shut the spending down. Republicans traditionally don't know how to take the gloves off and fight, and with guys like McCarthy and McConnell in charge, I doubt any of that will change. Same old uniparty-politics-as-usual.

Considering the horror of the past two years, I am deeply saddened over the election results, but not because of political party, because of the total ignorance of the American voting public, if they truly did vote as the results show they did. I'm honestly ashamed as an American. The fact that abortion topped the list of so many voters is deeply troubling. 68% of single women voted for Democrats in this election.

We'll have to see what the future holds. As a former Nevadan, Las Vegas, I'm rooting for Adam Laxalt, as well as Kari Lake and Blake Masters in AZ. I don't have a lot of hope for Hershel Walker in GA, simply due to the dismal results the last time this happened in 2020.

I have to head for the airport to pick up Anne right now, already running late...

Early voting hurt...70% of Dem voted early and only 20% of Rep did. One side took good advantage and the other side did not. Money being used to "counter" the other party's campaigns worked well (both sides throw money at supporting a weaker candidate to face their party's "strong candidate"). Redrawing districts. The fact that we won't get tallied results for a month.....

Lots of reasons to be frustrated. Not to mention that both sides had bad candidates but the media sure favored one side more than the other. Most people are passive consumers of EVERYTHING anymore....a pamphlet, text, tik tok video, news program, late night show gives them all the info they want/need unfortunately. Strategy was important this cycle for sure. If both sides had voters who looked at records, policies, etc the results would have been different. But that will likely never happen again.

I am still hopeful of a Republican being president in 2 years (obviously Desantis)....but the Rep party could be hindered by Trump staying active unfortunately. I just paid $5 19/gal for 93.octane and my shopping list which was in the $135 range is now $211. I went from earning over 8% on a diversified investment to about 4.3% and my retirement/pension went from making 25% over the past 10-15 years to being almost flat. I can't afford the progressive agenda/Green bullshit. I'm still considering Portugal for retirement but maybe that will become expensive over the next few years.
I don't know if it's fully planned out by the left/progressive/globalist (I do think it is)...but I have done everything traditionally you are supposed to do and shit ain't working out like it "should" be ..that much I know. The non multi millionaires don't understand that they are going to be struggling more and more every year...the Dems that vote for progressive nonsense will find it hard to live decently even if they make damn good money....

But I got my bikes all prepped for storage and plans to work on a couple over the winter......so as long as I can afford to run my garage heater and score good deals on parts I'll be happy...

Some of you older members may remember one of our members who was from Spain. He knew more about US politics than most of us did. I think in general, the US populace is extremely ignorant about economics, foreign affairs and history. We have raised generations who take our prosperity for granted and vote for things that in the grand scheme of things don't even matter. If you don't have energy, a strong national security and a thriving economy, other things don't matter. Your country will collapse. We are headed that way.
