Hello all, glad to see the site still thriving. Up until all the crap hit the fan earlier this year and for the last year, life was pretty much work, eat, sleep, lather, rinse, repeat. Didnt really have any time for riding or anything else for that matter. And in the midst of all of that my mother passed away which put me way behind in work and ended up spending the last 5 months of last year playing catch up. In what little time I did have for myself I did some tinkering on the 06 just to keep my sanity. Put some Bassani head pipes on with a pair of new "old stock" CCI harley cans I had bought off of ebay several years ago for the 02 build and never ended up using. Also made some brackets and lowered the hard bags 3 inches. Would still like to find a set of Royal Star bags and hardware but that'll have to wait a while until more work comes back. Since things slowed down have been able to get some good riding in but now in the 110's here in AZ so not as enthused about riding in a hot oven as I was when I first got back to riding several years ago.
So early on last year I was delivering a medical bed to a home. The owner took me into the garage to bring the equipment through there, I got about 4ft in from the kitchen when I stopped in my tracks looking at a custom Roady build in progress, I said "Sweet Roady." He said, "you know what that is even without a motor in it." I said "Ya I own 2 of them." He asked "do you want another one?" Me, "how much?" Him, "it's yours if you want it! I cant ride anymore due to arthritis and I lost heart in the project when the man I trusted and paid to do a lot of custom work on the motor skipped town with it in his truck. I've been waiting for the right person to come along that would appreciate the bike for what it is and you seem to be that person." So now I own 3 Roady's.
This one is a 99 with all kinds of aftermarket parts on it. It has forward controls, the wheels are Roady hubs but remade by PCS with 17 inch rims and stainless laces, with the rear being widened to I think 5 1/2 inches with a 200 wide tire on it. It has a set of custom chrome steel side covers that look harleyesque but Ive never seen a set like them before. The front and rear fenders are Barons pieces. And a set of drag bars I didnt think I would like but feel quite comfortable when I sit on it. I see that we are able to post pics again here on the site, so will see if I can get up to speed on how to do it again and get a few up of it.
Wont make any promises but will try to stop in more than once a year
