  • Dchopper Customs?

Just wondering if anyone has heard from these guys lately. I have been trying to get in contact with them for a couple months to get a pair of bag brackets for my winter build. Their products look top notch. I will keep trying.

I believe they do the brackets on the side after their regular jobs. It took them a little while to get back to me when I bought mine a couple years ago. Its worth the wait. They are very good and durable.

I see Denis post on FB quite often I'll shoot him a message and let him know to check in here and that you are looking for his brackets. His product is top notch. I have installed the brackets on 3 different bikes and the owners love them.

I sent him a PM on FB.

I contacted him and he said he will check in to take care of things. I'm sure as soon as he gets a chance you will hear from him.

Thank you for all the help in contacting him. I left a message on the phone that is listed on their website as well. I will wait to hear from him.

Did you ever hear back from him? I’ve also had a hell of a time getting an order put in.

Poor communication is a red flag as far as I am concerned. Run.

What does a bag bracket allow for? Easy removal of the bags?

J89k The brackets allow for Harley style bags to be mounted onto a Roadstar. Dchopper brackets are supposed to be the better option, but not sure how you’re supposed to get them at this point.

Anyone know of another option besides HD softail brackets(already tried them, not happy w/ them)

Harley "Softail Conversion Brackets" work on our bikes. It's what I have. They're less than $40 and the only real downfall is they don't sit as close to the fender as the DC brackets. They sit maybe an inch or two further out but that's purely aesthetic. I get a lot of PMs about this, so I'll just post this all here.

Click image for larger versionName:	s-l1600.jpgViews:	0Size:	83.7 KBID:	76587

The two top mounting points bolt directly up to the fender. If you have true duals, you can bolt the front mount to the exhaust support:

Click image for larger versionName:	Softail Converstion Bracket front mounting point.JPGViews:	0Size:	153.6 KBID:	76582

                          Click image for larger versionName:	IMG_6928 sans bracket.jpgViews:	0Size:	179.0 KBID:	76583

If you don't have true duals, you could easily fabricate an adapter:

Click image for larger versionName:	Conversion bracket Adapter.JPGViews:	0Size:	200.6 KBID:	76584

And if you have clearance issues with single sided pipes, you can easily raise the bags by drilling holes in the top mounting points about an inch or two lower:

Click image for larger versionName:	Conversion Brakcet Raised 1.jpgViews:	0Size:	26.2 KBID:	76585

This allows you to bolt the front mounting point directly to the passenger footrest bolt:
