I was wondering if fairing and trunk from a 04 v star 1100 will fit an 07 road star, and if the windshield from 07 road star will fit the 04 v star 1100, also seat swap

Since neither bike was sold with trunk & fairing a person with some skills should be able to make it fit by altering the brackets, this also depends on what trunk & fairing your talking about as all have differences.The seats are not interchangeable nor are the windshields as far as I know.

What Mort said. The Road Star is largely unique in build, the fork tubes are identical to a Royal Star, and that’s about the end of major parts interchangeability.

Rear fender bolt spacing is identical to HD Softtail.
Handlebars are all standard 1" diameter so virtually any bar from a Yamaha, HD, other metrics with 1" center diameter will fit.
Our bars are not a compound diameter, they're 1" from one end to the other including the grip area.
Separate (2-piece) risers are interchangeable (usually) but one-piece risers are spaced differently between the mounts at the triple between Yamaha & HD/other.
If using HD/generic bars they usually work but you might see the knurles exposed from the slightly different riser spacings.

OEM spotlight housings are the same but the mounting bars are not.

Most Roadstar & V Star parts are not very interchangeable without fabricating your own mounts.
Passenger floorboards are the same, but the mounts are not so you need the mounts for your bike.
I have a friend who made Royal Star Tour Deluxe bags fit on his V Star 1100 but he had to make the brackets himself.

There are a few other things you can swap, but not much.

The HD and R* fenders are mounted differently, but the bolts for the saddlebags/eyebrows are identical. I've got HD saddlebags and the softail saddlebag supports on my R*. My trunk is a chopped HD tourpak but the mount is a custom made. It's based on the HD Softail quick release trunk mount, but a bit longer, because the HD won't clear the rear of the passenger's seat. I know cuz I bought one to try and thats why I had to have one made. I hope to make them available to members at some point, but the CAD file needs some tweaks and I just haven't gotten around to it. If I get enough interest it would help put a fire under me.

Never ran a HD rear fender, but I ran Softtail Deluxe bags on my bike for a few years.
They follow the rear stock fender very nicely.
I never load them heavy so I didn't even use the bottom supports, which would need to be altered.
I just bolted the bags right on the bike using generic Grade 8 stainless bolts & some bronze bushings for spacers that I had laying around.

Did you mount the bracket tabs UNDER the fender supports, or on top?

James Adams makes a very solid trunk rack that fits in stock fender stays.....love mine HD saddlebag brackets (generic on eBay $50) fit easily for mounting HD saddlebags ...many aftermarket fairing companies make specific mounts for Road Star (Tsyuakyu on mine quick release).

Or the Yamaha version from a RSV is pretty much a bolt on if your running low duals.
