Just joined the forum but have been lurking since I bought the bike last October. Have got a lot of valuable info so far, so thank you to all. My bike has 99000 miles on it but seems to run real well. My plans are to fix the slight oil leak from o rings on the hardlines in the spring. Also have a Barnett pressure plate going in at the same time. Only real problem so far was the dreaded carb puke in November. Hoping it was just unusually warm day and winter gas causing it because my buddy's RS did the same thing at the same time ,and he has never had it happen before. Anyway just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks.

This is a great forum and great people. You've came to the right place.
Carb puke is usually caused by float level being to high, or float valve not sealing off the incoming fuel. Make sure that the fuel tank is venting good.

thanks for the welcomes and the suggestions. My buddy's bike had never had the carb puke problem until that day and we filled up at the same stations and where under the same conditions. His is a 05 1700 and mine is a 07 1700 so I suspect winter gas and abnormally warm weather but we'll see in the spring. If it continues I will think about going pumpless. Thanks again.

EP Roadie. What brand of fairing are you running? I looked at a R* for sale up here that had a Klockworks fairing on it but I couldn't see anything 50' in front of the bike. Seemed a little unnerving.
