  • New from Oklahoma

Returning member from old site here reintroducing myself . I am a floor underlayment applicator from Roland,OK . Married 14 years with two girls that will be driving soon. My hobbies are vw's,buggies, gun's, hunting, and bikes. I have a 05 Roadstar silverado 1700 i bought a couple years ago with 15,000 miles on it and has around 40,000 now. I have added 16" kong bars, barons cables, roadwing shock , tour classic bags, E.D. seats ,Barnett pressure plate upgrade, ported manifold, D.n.a. 21" front spoke wheel, floorboard relocation mod, yamaha hwy bars and a few other odds and ends. I do my own wrenching aside from mounting tires. I am currently going back together after replacing steering neck bearings for the second time in a year. This time i used o.e.m. as i am not a fan of all-balls neck bearing kit as it comes out of the box. Anyway thats a little about me and my bike and I look foward to learning from folks on here that have had these bikes for a lot longer than me. Thanks for letting me join and ride safe!!

I am also about to throw in a set of all bearings. Mine came in a sealed plastic container. The kind ya get your bologna out of, peel back and enjoy. They look okay. I'll find out within 4 days. Weekend work shift starts tomorrow through Tuesday AM.

it wasn't the bearing itself, but the seal for the bottom bearing was to tall and caused a bind. basically to much rubber sandwiched between the bearing and the race . it gave me symptoms of over tight bearing, and a rubberband feel at the bars while on the stand ,after readjusting twice with no improvements i finally saw what was goin on and trimmed the seal then all was good except for the hacked seal. The seal can be shimmed to fit correct before it goes on the stem, but for ten bucks more i just ordered o.e.m. from partzilla.com and it is good right out of the box. All these extra nuts and bolts go somewhere... oh well, I'll figure it out later.

Yes ! I am a little behind on getting a room , but will make it happen. I plan on doing a lot more riding and hanging out this year, even if i have to leave my backpack at the house.
