Hey, I've been riding for a few years at this point. Just looking to expand my knowledge, and wanting to learn how to wrench on my bike more. Right now I'm wanting to change the sprocket pulleys for better highway speeds, (lower rpm while cruising.) Always down to meet up for rides, I work graves though so I don't have a ton of time, but I'm always willing to make it work!

The quickest, cheapest way to reduce your RPM is replace your front drive pulley with a 33 tooth pulley off a "99 thru "03" RS. This will give your bike a little better cursing RPMs.

I think my '05 1700 has a 33 front pulley Stock ?

I'm pretty sure all 1600's had the 33 and the 1700's had the 32 stock.

Brad_G is right about 1700s having a 32 tooth front pulley. The 1600s are the only ones with a 33 toothed pulley, to my knowledge. 33 pulley with a 65 tooth rear pulley is a sweet highway gear combination, but you have to replace the belt to a 128 tooth.

Is a 65 tooth pulley a good choice with a 32 front drive pulley ? I'm making this change on my '05 Trike conversion. This Trike is also Stretched 8" to make room for Passenger seating .
