I'm 65, retired and love to modify what ever i'm driving at the time. with better than adverage results and responces i am continualy encouraged. so me landing here is to find tech required to keep my current rendition of eclectic magic moving. I traded an 08 Chevy Uplander tin woody for a 06 1700 royal star. the warrior clan sent me here after letting me know that 1700 doesn't mean warrior. little things like spark plugs and gaps or where do you adjust the idle. Don't hate me for this but the bike's going steam punk. Red tins, gloss black chrome, last guy used flat black and i am certain that there in no creativity in a can of flat black, and burnt copper manifold paint on strait pipes with hidden internal baffles. I've had the bike three days now and luck was on my side in that it runs strong and the clutch does not slip. studed bags crystalized windshield and the outside headlights are missing. never sheltered and looks like for the last two years it was a dirt track racer. since it obviously has a punky little attitude and a full head of steam my choice of theme was already set in stone. if i can a way to go phone/email/laptop I'll post progress. please over look my spelling, I'm a welder by trade.

thank yuo for all the quick replies, my confidance at the parts counter has gone way up. I have fixed some of the stupid on the bike but the bike world here in Dothan doesn't wake up till tue. tune up and oils chain are still on the list. my fixed income is here, bills are paid around the 15th. then i can see my budget. ha. three miles to get it home, one mile round trip to the gas sttation, need to do fluids before i move it again. i'm looking at it as a running project. my riding habits are that of an old guy on a 50cc scooter who got one big enough to be seen and heard. thanks for all the help in advance.

There is no chain to oil as you mentioned previously. It is belt driven.
