Hello Road Star owner, lovers etc.
I'm from upper central part of the Ozarks, and I been thinking about a Road Star for several years now, found and put some money on a low mileage, 2009 silver R* Silverado.. its been lowered,( but I don't know what means they used and I like to figure that out) I been an owner of many large and even larger bikes than my now 09 R*, models: 1981 Honda CX500, Yamaha 650 Maxim, Yamaha Vision 550, 1950 Harley D Panhead, Yamaha 920 Virago, Honda VTX 1300, Triumph Thunderbird 1600, Yamaha Stratoliners (2 of those) Honda Goldwing F6B, Yamaha V-Star 1300, Honda Rune, a and I still have my 2021 Harley Street Glide in the stable which the R* sits next to.. Of all the bikes I have had the longest is the Stratoliner(s).. I planned to sell my last 3 bikes and buy a 2021, which I did, and focus just on it, but looked kinda lonely in my garage.. and I still like to show and prove to my harley buds that I'm a still not a HD koolaid drinker, I ran across this unwanted low mileage 09 R* and thought that's it.. so here I am..other than Cobra Dragsters and being lowered, I believe it to be stock (but dang sure sounds like its got a spicer cam in the works) I havent rode it but a couple miles.. and I can tell you one thing I like about it over the Stratoliner is that I dont hear a extremely loud alternator whine like on the Strat.. That really annoyed me.. But of all the road bikes I had.. the biggest surprise was from the Yamaha V-1300.. I tell you for vee twin.. that engine and power train was phenomenal, perfectly match, no ulgy vibration at any rpm range, infact it was just as smooth at my goldwings and Rune, and if you didnt load it down, there was not stock Stratoliner would leave you behind, and I believe the V-star 1300 even had the Stratoliner in the top speed by a couple mph. Now other than too weak suspension, the V-Star was a big surprise. So here i am, got any questions about those bikes, I'll be happy to share what I know or remember..lol I will have questions about this R* model, If I can find the answers with a simple search
