Finally decide to join the clinic after lurking for a little over two years!, I first started looking at this site when I first decided I was going to go down the Road Star rabbit hole.
I’ve owned my ‘07 R* Silverado for two years now and have enjoyed it to the max. My previous bike was a ‘82 650 Maxim. Big step up.
Aside from two rear flats I’ve had no problems with the R*.
I’m the third owner. Bike had 13,824 miles when purchased. Original owner had the bike for seven years and put a little over 7,000 miles on it. I’ve ran it up to close 28,000 miles in the two years I’ve had it.
The bike had V&H long shots installed by the original owner so first thing I did was the AIS delete and added a BAK and a ported manifold and custom remote PMS adjuster. Have the 172.5 main jet and the #40 pilot. Clip on the fourth groove on the needle. Seems to run best with the PMS out about 2 1/4 turns.
Bikes runs strong and averages 38 - 40 mpg depending on how hard I run it.
