  • Back again and looking for trike information.

Champion doesn’t make trike kits anymore. Frankenstein does but it is ugly. Anyone know of anyone who trikes RS?

  • #2
The other thing I was thinking was to sell my RS and buy an already made trike but I need to get $8500.00 for my Roadie.

That might be difficult to get that much.

When I get to that point I'll be getting a Spyder. They handle so much better.

Yes, you may be right but I do have thousands in accessories I’m hoping will help.

You'd be better off to put the stock components back on the bike and sell it and then sell off the accessories separately.

In this day and time you'll be unlikely to get that kind of money for any Road Star. California Sidecar Company still makes trike kits. They just don't make sidecars (go figure). But you have to have a Roadliner or a Strataliner, they don't offer one for the Roadstar.

You road star will bring $3k to $4.5k more than likely. Not going to find a trike for that much. Sometimes I see a Royall Star Venture trike done nice for sale but usually $10-15k. Always better to sell what you got and but a trike already done. I've only seen about 3-4 Road Star Trikes up for sale before in the past 6 years. About the same with a Road Star with a side car. Hard to come by.

There is a house here in town that has a road star trike in the side yard. Haven't ever seen it move. Been tempted to stop and ask them about it.

Lol, I don't need a trike let alone another bike.

          • #9
The bike is free and clear obviously so it might be to my advantage to see if I can trade it in for a bike already triked. The problem I have been finding there is every time I find a dealer that has one, it’s gone in a flash before I get to put an offer in.

Yep, leaving tonight to go pick her up! I will be dedicating her to become a tribute bike to his father and my father in law. Veterans, Retired Military - WWII Vet Battle of the Bulge. I will post updated photos from pricking her up and the build up date. Father in-law is 95 and rides... he is going with me to pick her up... He will be surprised when we get there. Havent told him yet... He just knows he is going on a road trip and is my navigator

Motor Trike in Troup, Texas makes kits for 1700 Road Stars. For your safety and those around you don't look at the price while standing.

That is one sweet kit. But $9K is a lot of $$$, and that's not with the optional reverse (couldn't find the price on that).

                • #14
Whatever you do, don't get one of those trike kits that retain the original rear wheel, essentially a set of training wheels. Bad choice for too many reasons to mention.

Yeah a real trike needs more rake than factory rake, right?

I've been intrigued by the concept of installing a Niken front end on a trike. Custom, eye catching, and maybe add some much needed stability to a trike with six degrees rake like ItBeMe stated. But would it still be a trice or is it now a quad?

What do you need to look for when you buy a trike. Obviously that's any different than the motorcycle
