    The black pvc looking thing with 8mm vacuum hose is the vent for the slide, push the slide with a finger it should go up easily a drop fairly quickly when released, it could be scorched from intake backfires ( coughs) #0000 steel wool will polish it nicely

    Not a symptom of Sticky valve. take the top cover off the carb and pull the slide out. make sure the 2 holes in the bottom of the slide are open, When you remove the slide you will see a couple ports in the carb body under the slide spray carb cleaner thru those ports to make sure they are free and not plugged. Reassemble making sure the rubber diaphragm has no holes in it and is properly in place and see if it works. There is not really much to that part of the carb. The rear vent tube does not plug into the carb at all. From the factory it plugged into the back of the air cleaner housing but most have removed it from there and run it down and under the bike with a small filter on the hose. If it is run to your carb remove it it don't go there.

    I can put a micro cloth or similiar over intake half covered, and it will run to the limiter.
    has 11,000 miles on it.

    no throttle response at all

    2001 Roadstar Silverado., Long shot exhaust, KN air filter on stock air box.

    Set for 2 years. Bought on Craigslist. 6.5 quarts of diesel smelling oil, same for gas int tank, which was black fuel.gasoline. Including tank.
    CV carb severely cleaned and all new parts,jets,diaphragms,needle and seat. Removed AIS, that stopped backfire into carb and pipes.
    Plugged heads. Lot of carbon when AIS removed. Spark plugs totally carboned. Replaced.. Great spark.
    Adjusted PMS for 5500 altitude. Pulled on enrichener, will run to 10,000 feet, runs rich of course, coked up exhuast.
    Take off enrichener of one notch. Will idle smooth, but zero throttle response, slide diaphragm new,etc.

    I this a symptom of SVS? Stuck valves. Has new fuel pump, petcock flows freely with volume. New fuel filter.
    New TPS, old one shot, I think it was used part.

    Any help here before winter sets in?
