  • Cobra speedsters

Just ordered the speedsters long with power port, anyone have em, any good? Says baffles come out, can't wait to bolt them up, i thought they might be a little cheesy with band clamps holding the chrome covers not like hard chrome that were welded but still my last set of hard chrome the welds holding the covers cracked here and there maybe band clamps not being so rigid are better?

Are you talking about Cobra Longs ? They've got that "PowerPort" thing. I put a set of them on Mrs. Pony's '09 VTX 1300c.( I've since sold that scooter & bought her a R/S Warrior) They're an excellent set of pipes. I took the baffles out when I installed the pipes, rode it around for about 2 hrs,, then put the baffles back in. I think they sounded better & the scooter definitely ran better (it was only 1300 cc's) w/the baffles in the pipes.

Yes cobra longs with the billet end caps, i i looks like you can remove just head pipes for engine work if the need arises

I have the speedster slash downs. Nice sounding pipe and they've held up well.
I have scrapped the lower billet end with two up and they are shorter than the longs so just wondering if that's going to be more of a problem with the longs

Had them on a previous bike and a buddy of mine had them on his Strat.
          They sound f’n amazing!
When riding behind him, the air cannons are an assault on the sense.
IMO, they are way way nicer and better build quality than the V&H longs.
          You’ll be happy.

I believe I have the ones you're asking about. I recently bought the bike. The only thing I noticed is the chrome is coming off of the lower cap. I'm thinking of having them powder coated black, just to be different. I love the sound of the pipes, they really rumble. I have not tried removing the baffles. I'm working through jetting right now. One thing at a time!

If you're going to get the caps coated, have them ceramic coated if possible.
The powder coat will take the heat and hold up alright. But, the first time they get wet while they're hot (rain;car wash), they'll become flat-black forever more.
              Don't ask me how I know !
