Who has tried a Potato Chip seat? How did you like it. I am thinking about getting one. I don't need a seat for long distance rides, Probably 100 miles stretch tops on this bike. Kinda looking for something a little slimmer than stock. With having the fender lowering kit. I can't use seats that bolt onto the rear fender like the Z1R does. Is it any better than the stock one?

Does anyone have one that they wont to get rid of?

All they do is trim down the stock seat pan and reupholster the seat using the original foam and cover, if you can build forward controls you got this too.

That is why you have to supply a core in good condition without tears or scuffs. In the fine print.

you know I have a spare seat, so I might as well go ahead and give it a shot before I spend any money to buy one.... Might
.be fun. Anyone know where to get a gel pad to put in it?

My old 99 R* had a PCS Potato Chip when I bought it and it bruised my tailbone the day I rode it home; took two years to completely heal. The stock seat pan has a ridge in it that's the problem, aftermarket seats don't have that issue. If it's the style you like, skip the PCS and get a Dragger seat or something similar. I personally love my Looney seat with the backrest. I can ride all day with it. Unfortunately they're next to impossible to find these days. If you make you're own, remove some of the hard plastic ridge.

Good info doc, didn't know about the ridge in the pan.. I had a Dragger about 7-8 years ago. I think i'm still sore from that ride around the block LOL

I put a PCS Chip on mine last year and could not be more satisfied . Short ride Long ride , it's great for me. I guess I'm just a little better padded then some. I'm not real happy with the cover on mine and plan to reupholster with better material and a more professional quality workmanship . Kind of looks CHEAP . I am considering inlaying a Gel cushin in the main sitting area when I have this done . My 67 year used Arse is whining more these days .

I have built many custom bikes and usually always use a spring solo seat or "potato chip style seat/
On my last build it just did not seem to work. It did not give me the back support
I wanted and I kept having the feeling I could come off of the back of the seat and was always
          holding on all the time.
So I tried something different. It is a Le Pera 304L seat. It has very good back support and is a good cushion.
It has a hinge on the front like a spring solo seat so that you can get to your electrics. It exceeded my comfort expectations.
I added a back support strap because it could not be supported by the rear fender.

Love your bike Lucky, its seriously badass, but you need to be sitting on it. Otherwise the seat it kinda ugly for a hardtail. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a seriously comfortable hardtail but it isn't a hammered steel seat with a layer of Naugahyde on it. need a pic with a big assed hottie on it.
