    Im starting to get parts for the new to me 2006 xv 1700 silverado. The passing lamp bar kit came yesterday, i wanted to a new clutch spring, is the EBC Spring any better than the oem or about the same. I really don't need a high performance clutch like a Barnett, i need better but not the best. im retired on a fixed income and can't throw a bunch of money at this bike, im going through the entire machine this winter, checking all bearings and bushings all the way to the swing arm and suspension. Ill be needing advice as i go, tomorrow i remove to boards to fit it into the back room, then i can work in comfort

    You don't need either unless your clutch is slipping in 5th gear after proper adjustment. EBC is 20% stronger than stock.If you plan on hauling ass get the Barnett.

      Get the Burnett do it once do it right don't worry about it ever again for as long as you own the bike.

        I usually ride 2 up. Stock clutch would slip when I gave it a good twist maneuvering in traffic. Put in the Barnett and have not had any trouble since.

          I went EBC when my clutch started slipping... that was years ago now. It's still all good! Didn't even buy a new gasket. Just made one from a tube, according to instructions, and it doesn't leak! Was all good for under $60.

          You can easily do the same.

            Thats what i wanted to hear because the EBC Spring is cheaper than oem.

              I bought my EBC spring off eBay for $52 then. They say it's 20% stronger, but I can't feel any difference in the pull of the handle, which is a good thing!

                Any new spring will work better than the old worn out slipping spring. It will work OK until it don't. A spring steel diaphragm spring will never be as good as the Barrnett style spring. Some stock springs last for a long time for some riders and only a short time for others. Mine first slipped under hard acceleration at under 10K miles. I've heard of others that don't ride aggressive at all and the stock spring never needed changed with 50K on the bike. IMO a Barnett is a once and done spring. A diaphragm spring will always eventually need to be replaced.

                  For this winter, I'm removing the Danmoto exhaust from my handling solo-rider, with the 18" aluminum aftermarket wheels with sport bike tires... If I lean much to the right, the muffler was dragging. It was so hard mounted, it would try to unload the read tire... which would create a little pucker instant! What I plan is to put the stock muffler mount back on, fabricate an attachment bracket between it, and the manner in which the Danmoto muffler mounts, and go further back and higher up... so it can't drag. I'll connect the 2-into1 collector to the muffler with about 18" of 2" Dia 304 stainless tubing. Shouldn't alter the sound, but should sure make my right-leaning curves a whole lot safer!!!

                    wiring for trailer
                    OEM hard bags painted to match and installed
                    maybe pivot arm bearings since everything will be apart
