Damn, be super careful with that foot. I now have a wife with 1 1/2 legs that is a diabetic, and had something very similar happen. They tried everything, weekly scrapings, hyperbaric chambers. IV antibiotics, more scrubbing, more shit than I can remember. This went on for almost 2 years until her entire heel was almost eaten away and the infection spread to a point where there was no choice left but to amputate. Now a lot of times when this occurs, what happens is the amputation also get infected, they chop more off, that gets infected, and then you die of blood poisoning. My wife is a nurse, and she took very good care of her amputation wound on her own, rejecting the hospital's treatment. It healed up but she still doesn't walk so good with the prosthesis. Shortly after all that her other foot developed a bruise on the heel. There was no injury, it could have been from the added pressure she put on it but no one really knows. She decided to treat this one on her own, but in 6 month most of her heel was gone and she was in constant pain, and, at this point, had been for almost 3 years. She finally went to the hospital and they scheduled her for another amputation. 12 hours before we were supposed to have her at the hospital, she decides not to go through with it. She kept fighting the infection on her own, and 9 months later, it had healed to the point where she could walk again. Then , she had to overcome an addiction to pain meds, as she had been on a steady Vicoden diet for 3 years. That wasn't easy, but she did it. Now, here's the really amazing part...through the whole 3 year ordeal, she only missed 3 weeks of work. She is a nurse, but she's an MDS coordinator, which means she sits in her air conditioned office on a computer all day and crunches numbers and medical codes and insurance and Medicare bullshit, and she's very good at it. She's the strongest, most determined person I have ever met.

Good luck sprt220. Hopefully, you'll get out easier.

I have been a type 2 diabetic for 16 years very under control.I have never had an infection before. This infection happened in 2 days which blew me away.Had surgery today to hopefully fix that plus I've been on IV antibiotics. No MRSA.

used a piece of stainless steel bent 90 with two holes drilled, one with slots to get the cable through as per stock one.

Ken, you going to make it to Hollister? We'll be at Casa de Fruita at 10:00 AM, I'm heading out in a few.

Jay is taking us to a topless bartender bar. You don't want to miss out, but text me if you get there late, we'll meet up with you somewhere. I'll PM you my number.

Made my own aluminum bracket and mount to tank bolt on left side. Nothing fancy at all.

I went to the M/C junkyard and picked up a choke assembly from a 650 V-Star. I bolted it on under the seat on the left side. Cheap and works great.
