Ha ha. Nice! They pump pure oxygen into those dealerships to get you high on that new showroom stuff you know...

Same reason I’ve considered dropping $80k on a Platinum Diesel SuperDuty. Barely escape with my wallet every time I leave a Ford dealership. Or barely escape buying a ZX-14 or an H2 or a brand new R1M from Honda East...

I painted it in my shop and was not happy so I sanded it all off and I'm going to spray it again this week. Other than that it's all done should have it all together by next weekend

congrats on the new ride. don't like hearing that you were having starting issues as I just bought a used Indian. Let me know what differences you notice with the new compared to the old... besides having the navigation screen. Bike looks great, even got the taller bars from the git-go good choice

The dealer says the starter is hit and miss on thunderstrokes. Apparently a big issue on the scouts. The starters are on national backorder and they were not able to say when it would be available. Mine started turning over slow I thought it was the battery at first. I wouldn't worry had 36k on the bike and that was the only issue it ever had

"Sorry, the starters are on back order and no idea when we'll get them... So I guess you can't go riding for the next several months or so..." That's just brilliant marketing right there. Congrats on that sweet ride. We expect regular updates and spare not details.

Interesting comment for sure. His new Indian looks like it would be in the class of the Eluder. Any consideration for that?

The ugly bags and weird fairing on the eluder are just to much for me,some love the looks, it's just not for me!

That's a salesperson doing their job. Starting issues? Back ordered? Well, just buy this new one and we'll throw in a new starter with it as well.

I couldn't think of any new star cruisers other than the 950, and 1300. So I went to Yamaha web site to see what they had. They are showing no cruiser motorcycle category.
Did they get rid of their whole cruiser line? I couldn't find a site for just star motorcycles.

Cike, they don’t call them cruisers. The category is transcontinental touring, ha ha. Anyway, the Eluder looks to be the closest thing to Rob’s new Indian.

Rob, did a new Yamaha enter in to your decision making at all? Just curious is all...

To me their more inline with your F6B or a BMW, highly capable, but not what I'd call the "classic" style. The Chieftain is definitely more classic along the lines of the R*.

Unfortunately the weird looking fairing and bags were too much for me. The Eluder will outlast my Indian but ..... I stuck with Indian
