Yes, how much does a guy charge for a free bike that many of us pitched in cash / parts / time to build?

Interesting question Ron..too bad it's purely hypothetical so I'll say I would have given it to a member who was down on his luck. I'll say this much...I would want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and be able to say, no, you didn't profit off the charity of others. That's what I would "want" for it. But it never would have happened 'cause I didn't buy a ticket for the same reason. I contributed to the charity but I did not buy a ticket. I won't put myself in a position to profit from the pain and suffering of others, or profit off of those helping those suffering. To me it's a matter of principal. Anyone who feels I'm being assholish about this, I apologize, I'm only voicing my opinion. I have no ill will towards Viking, and only wish him a swift and complete recovery from his injury.

He could charge whatever he wanted. He won it fair and square.

If I were able to throw my hat in the ring I would be around the $6.5k mark with everything that was put on that. Not sure how many miles are on it but has a lot of time and effort in it.

Being a newer member what is the Eagles bike? Not that I’m in a place to get a new bike right at the moment.

Members here got together and built a bike to raffle. All proceeds benefited a charity. That's the Eagles Bike. Viking won the raffle and now he is selling the bike. So whatever he gets for it, it's 100% profit minus the cost of a raffle ticket. It's the blue bike at the beginning of this thread. It's very nice.

I would be interested in it but honestly I wouldn't pay more than $4k for ANY Roadstar now. I can get them stock/stockish for $2k routinely. If you can get 6500 USD better sell that thing today! I have seen it in person and it's one of the best Roadstars out there for sure. You can sell it .....give it away.....trade it....or smash it with a hammer....it's yours. You don't owe anyone anything for it. It was raffled off as is/no conditions. To me it's yours JUST like you bought it. If I inherit a car/bike/house/whatever for free I'm not giving it away for free just because I didn't have any money in getting it.

Sorry to hear that you have to sell it. I would have loved to kept it when it was built. It is definitely a beautiful bike.I hope you enjoyed it for the time you have owned it. I still proudly show pics of that build and tell the story behind the build to a lot of people when having conversations of motorcycles.

It is an amazing bike, I get comments wherever I go with it. And the story makes it even better.

If he did sell it I hope he got whatever price he wanted. I also hope the story behind the bike don't get lost with the new owner. I have more pics of the build I can post if anyone is interested in seeing them.

How about a straight up trade for an 02 roadie that needs to be restored and raffled off? Keep the tradition alive and help a poor guy upgrade
