Fresh oil, new spark plugs, some brake work, and a good bolt check over the entire bike before the riding starts. I always seem to be able to find at least one bolt that's loosened up over the last year. Only thing left to do is clean and re-oil the K&N filter and ride!

Stripped her down to install the fairing! Tomorrow Will be a rattle can paint job and do some grinding on the exhaust mount so I can get it a little lower to clear my bag mounts

Cleaned off all the dead bugs on the fairing and then took it out for about an hour just tooling around the area.

Installed Roadwing, rebuilt rear master cylinder, changed oil and put ED seat on. Then went on 50 mi shake down ride what a difference.

Friend's rear caliper was seized up... two inside pistons. Freed 'em up and swapped the fluid mud out for some new synthetic stuff. Pads wouldn't bite. So, I had some new ones in the pkg. Stopped well, and let go, too!

Rode my Vulcan 800 three times today. This evening to the local Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts Meeting. Always some cool old bikes there. Tonight some 60s BSAs.

Plan to finish reassemble of front end. Fender ,Brakes ,Wheel with 13,000 mile C2 that measures exactly Half depth of new one I bought , Chopped Lowered OEM windshield and all those brackets with Shore's type Lowers. If my Frickin' lower back will cooperate.

I do too. Ever since getting rid of the white walls and going to the Harley wheel, the fishtails didn't quite fit my look anymore. Loved them but Cike is loving them now. Lol.

Started modifying the dchopper brackets, looking good so far. Only unexpected problem is the new bags can’t sit flush against bracket anymore. Need to space the front out 1/8 inch so the lid clears, or notch the lid or chop the upper brackets which I don’t wanna do at this time. I have 1 inch of clearance from bags to exhaust everywhere, fills the stretched cutout much better. Next winter I will fill the original holes, remove the spacer and notch the brackets for the lids to sit flush and repaint brackets but for now she’s almost ready to ride.

Checked to see if there any loose bolts, started it up and started to clean up the hypercharger I bought from Cike. Planning on putting my roadwing and new E.D. seats on this weekend.

I spent a couple hours cleaning and then put Ride On in my front tire.

I got all my tins color sanded and ready for pinstriping and clear coats, put my new risers on (Thanks Mikey!) and polished up all the little chrome pieces from the bags, the fenders, tailights, etc.

Today I am tackling my stator, rectifier, starter and starter wires. The archive articles are awesome walking me through all of it. Since I’m not the most mechanically inclined person I was nervous to do this but the articles are making these jobs easy. Everything is going so smoothly (knock on wood) hopefully it will continue and I’ll be riding tomorrow. Thank you to all that contribute here to make guys like me feel like a true mechanic.

I unveiled my trusty steed from the confines of a tarp cacoon that faithfully protected it from the harsh winter elements. Placing a freshly recharged battery into the heart of the beast, I gently hit the start button without adding choke, with the purpose of circulating oil within the confines of the V Twin Monster to lubricate its heart.

Having been satisfied as the beast was properly lubricated, I repeated the procedure to ensure my trusty steed had a double dose of life-giving goodness. I finally added the essential element of choke and a twist of the throttle, causing the beast to cough to life in an exuberant display of appreciation.

In a fatherly way, I allowed the thumping heart of the untamed beast to warm up and express itself by releasing a wintertime of pent-up anxiety and confinement in the form of growling thunder from it;s cold exhaust pipes . I gently rolled on the throttle to ensure all was well. The remarkable response encouraged me to tramp on the throttle mercilessly as babysitting time was over.

With great glee and joy, the pipes barked with the howl of appreciation. I then, having the assurance that stale old gas, cold, and the misery of a dark winter did not overtake my faithful loyal companion, shut down the drama, turning the key to the off position, so my friend could rest after the ordeal.
The adventures to be had when my friend reawakens are yet to be told.

Basically, in a nutshell, the bike started and worked well.
