Made a quick stop to clean the turn signal switch out since I keep forgetting to do it. Sprayed it out with electrical contact cleaner, took a tiny wire brush to the contacts and polished them all up. Hopefully this fixes my random on and off turn signals...

Jenn had to work last night so I went to the shop to clean Whitey. I got caught in the rain last time I rode and it's a dirty mess. Next thing I know its sitting in the driveway running and I'm in the house getting my riding jacket. Maybe I'll clean it after work one night this week.

Doesn’t help Performamce, just prevents oil from entering the carb.

I checked my wheel bearings, then tightened the steering head bearings, replaced a missing bolt on my Memphis Shades Batwing mount, dialed in my PMS, tightened up my Roadwing RAP and took her out for a ride. Good times! Feels much better now.

Made a radar detector platform for my Ram Mount that uses a handlebar clamp bolt. Will give me a little more peace of mind when running extra legal speed.

Hard soldered the broken end back onto the rear signal mustache bar on the 2000 'clean up project bike'.
Did it old style with paste flux, solid 30/70 tin-lead rod & a torch.
I can lift the whole thing by the repaired end by a needle nose pliers & shake it.
Cleaned up really nice too with some 0000 steel wool.

Of course, now I need to thread all the wires back through the damn thing. LOL

I put a new Metzler 888 WWW on the front. The old one was almost bald!

About as you would expect. I had a bad Cold, so: ended up with Pneumonia, really annoyed, with less than I walked in with, and the feeling that I really need to learn to stop making stupid mistakes.

That looks like its gonna be a beauty, did you have the HSR42 adapted for the TPS ? seems like the VOS is a nono for the RS as the ECU has a different timing curve setup to a harley, still looking into ito the details at the moment

Well i fitted a small tacho to the left rear engine mount, and mounted a temp sender that came with the tach to the front cylinder head, no pics yet but will show soon
Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before i can think straight

There is a bunch of conflicting info on the subject. What I can gather is the VOES is either on or off and the TPS is gradual. Others say they could not tell a difference. The timing curve is of no issue as a switch is just turning it on and off. The TPS sounds like a dimmer switch activation and the VOES turns it on or off with vacuum. I'm trying the VOES first. I'll try it with it connected and not and see if it makes a difference or not. Then I may look at building the TPS when I get the gumption to do it.

Now someone will probably tell me I'm full of shit (hmm now that I say that...) or not, I'm still learning

Hi, The ECU in harleys and RS are programed to have a built in timing curve that is designed to operate in a certain way based on the sender, ie VOS and TPS, as the VOS is a switch and the TPS is a varister, i am of the conclusion that the VOS will only send the RS ECU from one end of its scale to the other, as the RS ECU is turned up like a volume, via the TPS, whereas the harley ECU has preprogramed curves that are switched between via the VOS.
This is my understanding of how they both work after some research.
I will do some tests when the weather allows to acually see what is happening with the timing using both units.
Many people report different things but i cannot find anyone that has actually done a measurement of the timing, just seat of the pants feel, which may be causing detonation that nobody hears, especialy with load pipes.

I dont mean to sound rude, i just want to help people from harming their motor

The TPS would be the better solution I would bet so I'm more than willing to be educated on it. Funny that no one did (or posted) specific testing as you are proposing so I look forward to what you come up with

I got a wompus rack ordered so I can put a trunk on my deluxe, now I just need to save up for the trunk lol
I also got to polish both the bikes a few days ago but then they had to go back in the shed, too much snow still on the ground and more coming tonight.

Ais plugs are in the freezer. Bassani true duals are mocked up but have to remove to install new gaskets and to access rear ais hole. I am uncomfortable running the engine without any exhaust pipes on. Can the frozen plugs be knocked into a room temp engine ok? Saddlebags also arrived but I do not like them on the brackets I have here. Gonna order dc choppers brackets real soon. Also have fuel sender, intake and carb parts but kinda hoping to go for a ride tomorrow and will do the fuel system another time. I am very eager to hear this exhaust!

Exhaust sounds great on first firing. I’m leaving the packing in the slash cuts to ride and see how it sounds. I was concerned the bassani true duals would be a lot quieter than the longshots and assumed I would remove the packing right from the start. Doing the heat cycles now.

I opened a box of chrome for the bike to look at it and see if bob1964 seat bracket was in the box also, Bob came over after work to pick it up.

Put the pb blaster to the shitty floor boards and got them off. Of course there is always a stubborn one I"ll fight with tomorrow. In slowmo and still hurting lol. I don't think I could give these homemade boards away, they don't fold up out of the way.

I rode the piss out of mine after one of the worst weeks of my life. Upper 50’s° here in MI today. Did about 180 miles on the F6B. Total squid mode on the old man bike too, ha ha. With the exception of the full face helmet (*gasp*). That’s the 2nd ride in a row where I actually wore it and it’s not bad at all. Helps being cold. We shall see what happens when it gets warm. I make no promises. Damn this bike performs great on the expressway too. It makes me smile when a v8 Hemi Jeep floors it (black smoke out of the pipe) at 80+ and I can still just roll on in top gear and pass easily. Steady and planted at triple digits. Love it
