  • Zing’s finds...

I’ll keep this thread open and add/delete as I go along...NONE of these bikes are mine nor anyone I know...I look far and wide and when I see a roadie or something of interest I’ll post it and delete as needed...no response in needed, we all know what they are...I will not post anything w/o phone number as I wouldn’t contact them even if it were a bike I was perusing if they don’t post their phone number...if I were considering the bike I would not post it here...so here is a nice looking ‘07 roadie...

    https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/d...839028898.html

if this is unacceptable to management just let me know...I do look at a lot of bikes, not all are on cL...zp...

Damnit. If I was closer I might buy that. Stick that motor in my RoadStar...

Isn't that the same 1700 motor you already have, Jaybo?

Warrior is a 1900 and in a much higher state of tune.

The Raider also has the 1900. I wouldn't mind having one of those as a second bike.

That's a nice find, looks to be in good condition too. And he has my backrest.... I love that thing, very comfortable, but most importantly it doesn't ruin the lines of the bike because it sits so low. Anyone know what kind it is? Mine came with the Looney seat.

low Retail was $3500...while it had low miles it had no hard bags which as we all know are expensive...I thought the price was in line, just good...and it’s gone...

Always thought the Repsol bikes were cool. A little busy for my taste but still cool.

Ha ha. I find it amusing when talking to people who ride a bike like that. They go on and on about the frame and the handling and this and that (all stuff they read in an article somewhere). I ask them if they’ve ever had it on the track. Almost always the answer is no. Well, hate to tell you but you can’t tell the diffference in the frame and all this and that riding on the street, lol.

Aprillia guys are the same way in my experience.

Most track bikes are R6’s or something similar that aren’t perfect. And anyone at the upper beginner level on a track can outride the vast majority of Ducati owners, ha ha.

There's a definite poser factor with a lot of the Italian bike owners. I'd considered a 900 SS years ago, that and a TLR, but my American gut didn't agree with that Italian gas tank.

maybe like the rc51 which honda stopped making the roadstar will become harder to find and the price will go back up...there will ALWAYS be a market for the roadstar...i look forward to owning another one...my son is hesitant to start riding, i told him to get a nice roadstar, easy to operate and he will never lose money if he keeps it up...zp...

In another thread here someone was talking about an RSV. Doesn't list a year but seems like a decent buy with the miles and added chrome.

I looked at a RSV before I found my R*. Looked like it would be a comfy ride for momma on the back. But as a commuter it looked pretty heavy to navigate and park.

The first incredible deal on a sport bike for me came in the form of the Honda cbr1000rr I still own...I was $500 away from a gsxr k6 with allllll the aftermarket bits before I knew what I was looking at...I don’t regret getting the cbr but I pause at every 05-06 gsxr thou I see...the zx-10 in 04-05 as well...the cbr isn’t the quickest or fastest but it is planted...zing in the relatively slow lane...

As I recall the r1 has the tallest first gear ever, on anything...zp from online magazine pages...

Right. Ridiculously tall 1st. Can do something like 94mph at the redline in 1st. I suppose it might’ve been the way to keep squids from looping it before all this fancy electronic stuff came about to limit throttle in the low gears.

It’s one of the reasons why I run -1/+2 sprockets...

Bg...my wife wouldn’t...I’d be doin’ 80 chasing stray cats and clipping off the occasional mailbox...maybe flee and elude through rush hour highway traffic, see if I could get that big rig sideways on two wheels like a real motorcycle...probably have to hose out the sidecar afterwards and let it air out for a couple days...zing of wedded bliss...

Have your buddy get the vin and call a dealership to see if it's had the recall done. If not, could be an opportunity to get a rebuild for the cost of parts alone. Maybe add some go-fast bits for free labor.
