Nice. I’d like to ride an electric bike for a bit and see what it’s like.

bad to the bone, er, electrode...if i'm still kicking around in 10 years i'll look on craigslist and see if they've depreciated down to my wallet...my grandsons will probably be riding electric...zing of modest means...

Seeing the thread post I was curious what an electric finish looked like.

But I'm with Zing on that, it would be awhile before I could afford one, looks cool though. Would like to ride one.

It looks cool....but I just can't see taking a ride and not feeling a slight vibration and hearing a hearty rumble. Seems like other than wind noise it would be missing something for the soul.

Cool bike, no doubt, but how do you keep from flipping over on your back every time you twist the throttle?? I know I know.. The computer manages all that... just sayin. My biggest concern with electric bikes is the range. Around he we have thousands of miles of amazing road, but all too often, you have to ride an hour to get to the good stuff. Then you ride, then you have the hour ride back home. Average day is 300-400 miles. And most of these places are out in the sticks, in the country, where they don't have a Tesla quick charge station ever 5 miles. So you can't ride, eat lunch and ride back home. Sure it's fine for commute, but if you're only commuting who wants to spend that kind of money on a bike you have to worry about getting beat up... Prices need to come WAY down and range needs to be at least 300 miles. Then we can start talking. I'm sure we'll get there... Eventually... but we're still a ways off. Until then, it's a cool toy for people of means.

9 second cars are here. Bike technology right behind it. The infrastructure for recharging is not in place yet.
A little more history was made Saturday at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona as the Lane & McCue electric-powered COPO raced into the nine-second zone to the cheers of an appreciative crowd.

I'll wait until they come out with "Mr Fusion" for the power consumption required to keep it running. LOL!
There is something about the feel of a long stroke, internal combustion engine that electric can't replace. JMO.

Well said...total agreement...nice quiet bike would be a little easier to boost though, guy wouldn’t even look up from his glass of Perrier with a twist of mint as he sat at the sidewalk fern bar checking his iPad for incoming...

Well, you know, all those new electric bikes have bio-metric theft protection. If an unauthorized ass sits on the seat a banana looking device deploys like the airbag in your car, as a deterrent. Of course if you owned one of those bike you may never be able to keep your wife out of the garage....Just sayin....o.k. I'll go now.

Last summer I took an hour ride to a Zero dealer in Mass.
They let me test drive their model that has over a 200 mile range with the additioal power pack installed. It was an amazing ride. That bike had torque up the wazoo! Quicker than hell. More than once it got my adrenaline flowing and my eyes bulging out of my head. I friggin loved it.
Unfortunately, the 26K price was way out of my range for a toy, but man would I love to own one. I don't think I will ever see the day when they are common enough to be affordable to the average rider before i have to hang up my riding helmet.

By the time they get cheap enough for the average Joe to buy, they'll need new battery's, which will be as expensive as all get out and you still won't be able to afford one. As far as the Zero goes, that 200 mile range is only if ridden like Grandma. 75 mph down the hiway I bet you wouldn't get 75 miles.
