  • Another rim question...

Just tire kicking, no pun intended. Seen this on Kijiji. Looked interesting. Would this work on a Road Star with proper spacers? The rims are 17" vs 16 ". Great looking rims for a project bike. Pros and cons anyone? Thanks for any replies.

Are you really gonna spend $1000 to put wheels on a $2000 bike?

Nope. Ain't gonna happen. I keep wanting rims but the reality wakes me out of my coma. The bikes I really like the old Harleys and Indians in black and white movies. My blood sugars must fluctuate and effect my thinking at night as I get a hankering for KFC and motorcycle rims.

Always interested in rims, but stock spoke rims are nice for a retro theme. Just ate a tub of ice cream so I am thinking of doing a steampunk theme on a bike. Copper and brass tubing etc. Go for a 1920-30's look.

Me brains were fried from my wayward activities as a young fella. I use to smoke can a bus and has sheesh but had to quit. After I went on a few acid trips i decided to get off the bus as the magical mystery tour was taking me away. Now I am 100 % normal and a high functioning Road Star parts hoarder and obsessive about putting Harley rims that I cannot afford on a bike that doesn't work. Once I figure it all out it will be spring and the beginning of riding season.

LOL You do NOT want to try & polish that wheel. Try polishing something small first & you'll change your mind about attempting that wheel.

aircraft remover and a ton of sandpaper is what it will take. you might get lucky and be able to start at 320 but you will need to go 180, 320, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 at the minimun before you can polish it like chrome if thats the finish your after. thats my process to polish my wheel spacers.
