  • Your Proudest Item

Just curious what you all think of first when you look at your bike, or ride it. What is the best thing you've done to it, or added to it. What is the one item or part you've done or added that you're most proud of?

From the factory - blue color and whitewalls. Striking!
Just like many others - true duals and lowered bags.
From me - beer injector, espresso maker, studded neck collar, mount for Mustang trunk bag and chrome whore bling.

Installing a HD trunk and making the brackets for it. Made rides more comfortable for the wife and gave us extra storage space.

Yea, that’s what I’ve installed that I like most.

Proud? I guess I'm a little proud of the 2014+ Harley bags and mount thing. I didn't make them but was the first to figure it out. So... there's that. Same with the quick release tour pak mount.

Speaking of your quick release tour pak I noticed that in your thread about the trip from hell. Did you do any kind of write-up on that tour pak mount? I'd be interested in learning what you did to make that setup work. Looks pretty slick!

Thanks Brad, it's a prototype someone here made for me. I'm actually waiting to hear back from a local fabricator to see about having them made for members. The plan is to offer them on a one off basis, with the choice of unfinished, [for painting or powder coating] as well as polished, and brushed stainless. They use the HD mounting points and latches; which you'l have to provide yourself. I'll post a thread when I learn more.

The right side of the motor, as shown below. The air breather, crank case breather, billet enrichener knob, Strat floorboards and round brake pedal all tie it together nicely. The rest of my bike looks like shit.

Almost hard to believe it's the same bike. One of my favorites here.

I'm just thankful that I was able to get another bike. Paid $3500 for my "03, and I have spent roughly $1250 on accessories.

You're paint was pretty sweet, but that air ride was definitely something to be proud of, cuz like you said it was all you.

Wheels/Pulley/Rotors stand out the most on my bike....they don't make them any longer. PRO ONE Sinister II wheels.

Well this is a pretty crappy list compared to most of you.

What I think of when I look at it: Dang I like the looks of this bike, where should we go today?

Best thing I’ve done to it: Wash and wax.

Most proud of: Changed the oil (although I’d like to lower the bags, get true duals, and maybe add electronic cruise control)

Not a direct fit. There was brief talk here the other day and this site (https://www.murphskits.com/) has a link under the General area for the CCS100 cruise where someone modified it to a Road Star.

Lots of satisfying moments working on the bike, but getting the Strat bags sorted out is probably the proudest. I learned to weld in order to get the brackets (almost) exactly the way I wanted them, so getting it all together and rock solid made me smile.

I like the RSV bags on our bikes. It should of been an option. I also do like the ball milled covers on it. Real fancy. Lol

RSV bags follow the lines of the bike like the stock hard bags. Our bikes have round, sexy, flowing lines.

I would have to say this 2000 Basket Case I restored. I went thru every nut, bolt, gasket, seal, wiring and gear on this machine, so it is fun for me to ride.

Nothing really unique on my bike, but the add ons I appreciate the most are the Roadwing and Racetech, the Ed seat, and the 2into1 pipe in that order. Night and day from when I bought it.
