The bearings and races come as a set. If you don't have a press, your dealer will have one. Remove the forks and such and take the tree out. It cost me a large pizza for them to remove the old lower bearing and install the new one.

The evening before, put the new races in the freezer. They go in pretty easy that way. Reassemble eveything and tighten the steering head nut to 37 ft-lbs to seat the races. Then back it off and torque to about 13 or passing the flop test.
    Peace,

Is there a specific interval that repacking should be done? The og owner had it done at 15,000 km and the bike now has 30,500 km I. It. I am 2nd owner.

Seems like the perfect time to do it then! If for no other reason than peace of mind.

360.00 to replace them is a good price. I wouldn't pay that just to lube and adjust them, regardless they will need replacing, trust me on this. It's too much work to clean and repack them and not just replace them, watch a few videos on removing the race from the steering stem if you think you can handle it go for it. Just did mine. Last Sunday, torque and reassemble and put the tools away 2hrs. On a Silverado.
Is the word PICTURE a picture?

Two hours ain't bad, did you freeze the lower tree to get the bearing to the bottom. I even polished the stem with crocus cloth a little and my lower bearing was very tight

I only torque and reassemble. I did not replace. When I did replace, I needed a press to get off the old lower bearing.
