Decisions decisions. Where to go?

NW Starfest is in Belfair WA July 13. I'll be at a family thing in Sun Lakes WA before that. Only 4 hours away. But I'll leave from there on the 8th or 9th. So where to ride for the 4 or 5 days in between???

I could head north into Canada again. That was some great riding last year. I'd probably come back through Oak Harbor and Port Townsend.
Or go south to Crescent City CA and ride the PCH back up to the peninsula. That would be 1300-1400 miles. Not bad.
Or go straight to Puyallup and crash on Steve's couch, living on beer and nachos until Starfest.

Honestly couldn’t go wrong with either of your choices…..

heading down to Crescent City into the Redwoods then head north up the coast is a pretty good ride. The Redwoods are Beautiful, with some neat places to stop and see along the coast. If you do that definitely stop at Tillamook cheese factory for fresh cheese and ice cream along with the tillamook smoker for some really good jerky. Plus a lot of other nice places to see and stop. Since I’ve never ridden in Canada that would be fun too just don’t know anything up there sooo can’t give you any suggestions

I've been to Canada a few times but they never want to let me back into the states once I leave. I think their trying to tell me something.

Made a similar ride a couple years ago. Really enjoyed Hwy 199 from Grants Pass, particularly once into California. Side note: you won’t regret stopping for lunch at Taylor’s Sausage County Store in Cave Junction.

Looks like a great route. If you go through Ellensburg before Yakima, be sure to get off the freeway and take the Yakima River Canyon road which parallels the freeway to Yakima. It is a real hoot of Twisties. But watch for the popo!
