Big slow flying bird

I was riding to the DFW this past weekend and just east of Mt. Pleasant this big slow bird took off from the side of the Interstate highway. We were running around 85 mph when this thing first hopped out there. The guy behind me said that it probably would have bounced off of his helmet, I would guess that he's at least 5" taller than I am. You can see where the bird is picking his feet up to make sure he clears me. The photos are stills off of my Insta 360 camera mounted on my handlebar. The video of it going over my head is actually quite short. I can't seem to attach the others.

Looks like one of Wisconsin's Great Blue Heron hanging south for the winter.
We're crawling with them in the warm seasons.

I took a fair sized Mallard Drake right in the middle of my windshield several years ago.
I ducked down (no pun intended) and held on right before impact.

You know that noise a wooden ruler makes when you hold it down & leave most of it over the side of a desk & slap the free end?
My whole bike did that, but I rode through it.
I never saw where the duck ended up, but I tell you where all his poop landed. LOL

great blue heron i believe, egrets look similar, but much smaller. many of both in Fl. they truly look like Pterodactyl flting over at sunset.
