Have not been steered wrong here yet.
After the conversation last week about Roadliner vs Road* I have been able to testride a 2012 'liner. I did not have my mind blown.
So back to thinking about upgrading to a younger bike.

Not so custom if you ask me. Low mileage is good. Pretty common modifications. Bought one last year same year for a friend of mine for three grand.

In this market for Grand would be a good deal. It's a clean one owner nice mods. Might want to check the law on turn signals sometimes they're funny about the length between the turn signals. But I would say if you could get that for $4,000 or less I would grab it up. Hard to be to one owner with low miles. I would bet the jetting is wrong on the car cuz they probably follow the jet kit.

Nice clean bike. One owner is a plus as you can ask any history questions about it's maintenance (oil brand, change interval, etc.). LOL @ "custom". Yeah he added some aftermarket pieces. Sounds like an average weekend at Lug Nut's house.

07 is the best year carbed bike made. I think in this market it is a good price but as was said always try to get for less.

I have also heard the '07 is the best year for the carbureted bikes. All factory upgrades are done already. Nice looking bike, low mileage, but, yea, that's a lot of money for it. Roadstars have seen an upward trend in pricing recently, but not that upward. I think $4K is too much, but if you really want it, wtf ya gonna do, right? I think $3500 is too much personally. I got my 'o6 for $2,345.67, and that was 6 years ago. Good luck whatever you decide.

I sold my 06 I bought for 500 for 3500 (included perfect Silverado windshield and passing light bar) on payments to a local guy..
just had a couple and kid come look at my purple bike and test ride...SAID he is coming back tomorrow with money ($6500 asking price)...but until cash is in hand who knows. Used Road Stars here are highest they have ever been....can find much of ANYTHING here under $4000.

That 07 low mileage one owner would prob honestly bring $5k by me here now...

I would put '06 and '07 in the same category as far as desirable bikes. The '05 had the sticky valve syndrome occasionally.
