Broken throttle

I went for a short ride and coming home suddenly I have no throttle. I assume the cable broke. I walked home and I’m grabbing some tools to go back try to see what’s up with it. Why couldn’t that happen at home? At least I’m not hundreds of miles away. BUMMER!

I went back and took the BAK off and I could see the bottom nut on the cable at the carb mount had come off. I was only a few blocks from home so with my finger tips I got the cable back into position and screwed the nut back on finger tip tight. I fired it up and headed home. It started running like shit and about halfway home it died and wouldn't start again. I realized the carb had come off the intake and I had a full tank of gas so at that point I decided to call my son to help me push it home. I have AAA but I did not trust that. We got it home and he gave me a ride back to my car and that didn't want to start. WTF else could go wrong!? I have them both home now...I was a little bored earlier but now I have something to do!

Good to hear everything is back home where it belongs. At least it doesn't sound like anything major.

I certainly thought the carb would stay on the intake! I guess I must have loosened it when I was trying to reattach the cable into the carb hanger. Maybe I could have shoved it back on just to get home but I was fed up working on it in 35 MPH wind with a storm on the way. I wanted that puppy in my garage ASAP.
