Ahodge75 thank you for modifying your original post with the updated information. Good to see things are progressing in a positive direction. We always hope recovery will be faster than it is. But if we keep sending out thoughts and prayers hopefully MikeyC will be back here in full riding health.

Hey Guys! Thank you so much for all the well wishes and nice words.
So. I went in the emergency room the evening of May 6 with an acute gallbladder attack after trying to ride it out for several hours. They got me straight in and on my back and morphined in like less than 10 minutes. Their ultrasound tec had resigned 2 days earlier so they didn’t have ultrasound so sent me for a cat scan. The scan picked up more then expected. So they figured gullbladder and appendix removal. It started as a lapiscopic sp but when they got in there they found a mass (it appears this mass was the source of my back pain the past couple years) they removed 20 inches of small intestines to get bloodflow and 18 inches of large intestine as well as the gullbladder and about a 10 inch vertical incision. Couple days later went to clear liquid diet and pulled the en tube. Had a couple nice sipps of water and the yummist popcicle ever. Few hours later i started puking the foulest stuff ever. After a day and a half of doing that every 8 hours they re tubed me and that was such a relief. My intestines had decided to go on vacation. So road it out with the tube for a couple more days and things started getting brighter. Got on clear diet Friday. Got tube out yesterday. Got unrestricted diet last night and on my way home now

congrats on getting the recovery process started! I had a couple feet of intestines cut out a couple months ago myself, it's not fun but I'm back up and riding now. Wishing you all the best!

Just get better my friend, and do what the doc says to do. I'm hoping you and Janetta make it to Starfest, but please don't over do it Mike. Gods speed!

I had a ruptured appendix in the 80s that had been ruptured for 36 hours and put me in the hospital for 12 days in ICU. I know what you meant about Popsicles, then puking after. NO FUN!
The man in the room next to mine had a gullbladder removed, and back then, they split him half open to get to it.
Awe, the morphine! I know why it's a controlled substance, instance relief. Awe!

Great news that you are home! Recovery is the hard part. Mine lasted two years! Be grateful that we are on this side of the dirt!

Great to hear that you're headed home. Sounds like a pretty rough go there in the hospital....yikes!

Rest and take care of yourself. Maybe one of the local guys up there can take your bikes out and charge the batteries while you're recovering.
