Ordered new Yuasa battery and irridium ngk's...prob throw in a Barnett with half HD and half reg springs

I assume the power commander is plugged into cdi, this same location as on carb bike (remove battery tray and side cover)?

Anything different about removing gas tank from carb model (other than no petcock)? Fuel shut off....where?

What are options for air intake kits? Aside from modified srock box/lid with K&N. Any aftermarket options?

I don't think there is a fuel shutoff. I believe the fuel shuts off at the connector when you unplug it. I don't understand the theory of 1/2 HD springs? What does that accomplish in comparison to just using all HD springs? IMO a stock bike with no engine mods don't need HD spring with a Barnett clutch. I don't think there is any advantage to using them.

I did half-and-half on my purple bike so I have half left over lol. It's not noticeably stronger but a little bit more pressure to me is better than not enough. But yeah this thing's gonna remain mostly stock so it shouldn't need much more

Does this feel injected bike only have one AIS port that is active and needs block off plate?

Davej- I broke the connector on my fuel line and was simply going to remove the stock fuel line and replace with some 5/16 fuel line… It appears just metal fuel pipes on either side of it… Does that stock connector somehow cut the fuel off when removed? I looked at it and can’t imagine that it does but not sure??

According to Rons post below I guess it don't have a connector that shuts off the fuel. It clearly states remove fuel from tank with a pump. That sucks. As many times as the tank is removed by the average owner that just seams ridiculous. But that is what it says..

AIS should be plugged at both cylinders with metal plates and it is electrically activated so there is no need to plug any vacuum nipple, just unplug the harness and tie it up somewhere. The vent for the fuel tank is at the front bottom right of the tank versus top center on a carbonated bike. There is no shut off valve for the fuel, just disconnect all of the lines. I have found that there are only two universal K&N filters that have an offset flange that is great enough to clear the bottom of the fuel. I have the 3-in deep one.

RA-066V - Round, .813" offset, 2" deep, 6" diameter

So I can stick the same air cleaner i run on all my bikes...thats good. Im kinda thinking about doing a mod like Duke has on his stock box...still give me rain protection...

No, three of the filters folks use on their carbonated bikes won’t clear the tank. Only the two I listed work.

I used the ra-066v on all my carb bimes and clears good...nice that it will clear FI also. Did you do anything to raise your rev limit? Didnt they drop back to 4250 when they introduced FI? I have a dyna 2000 and wonder if itnwoyld work on a fuelie bike

maybe call Yamaha or Dyna tech support and ask if it is compatible.

Got off the phone with dyna support...great news. My unitnjas ignition and fuel capabilities. Can raise rev limit and download various maps for mods. Most importantly they gave me a "zero" tune that is basically a "pass through" and just uses factory computer setting for timing/fuel and i can use rev limit extension as well. Dont have to remove the damn thing now...very happy about that

ill make sure it will work well fiest but very happy the tech told me since I had the "good" unit ($429) and it controled timing/rev limit and can download a stock tune to use. What sucks is the previous owner got a set of pipes for his birthday and took it to dealership where they installed this Power Commander and apparently did not know how to operate it very well and got the bike running so rich it so rich it fouled plugs had sooty exhaust and he got mad so he just parked it and bought a Harley. If He would have just thrown the pipes on he would have been fine

When my battery gets in im going to mess with downloading the stock/zero tune and raise rev limit to 5000. Then maybe ride it briefly before changing plugs and fluids etc. ..excited the dealership talked the guy into a $429 part and probably $150 labor and made it run like shit so I could buy it for $2k. I would call the guy and let him know what's going on but no sense in getting him angry and then making him mad at the dealership with no real recourse for him. It just really sucks that he bought this bike brand new his wife bought him nice exhaust and then the dealership screwed things up from there.

Waiting on my Barnett clutch , battery, spark plugs etc so I can start going through this thing.... I got too many projects but I just can't turn these deals down.

I emailed my specifications to dynatec and they will send me back a program for my rev limiter being set to 4850 and i can run factory tune and ill get a coyple other tunes they have based on pipes and air cleaner. I have to go buy a data cable that is USB to USB-B to do the downloading of program.

Tank off air cleaner off dumped old gas tank looks good...plugs stupid rich and fouled....waiting on new plugs..git battery filled and charging....gonna yank stupid handlebar speaker stereo...waiting on data cable so i can adjust tune...ckeaned throttle body and blade and sprayed seafoam deep creep in there...lubed cables...got new grips...still 30's and 20's here so good time to wrench...
