Soooo this happened today....

Was towing a car for a friend.....came around a corner and hit black ice. Lost control truck hit embankment of snow rolled 1 1/2 times skidded to a stop on its roof.....the truck did its job and the seat belt held me in and i was able to crawl out of truck and walkway with minor scratches cuts and bruises. Starting to stiffing up tonight but I lived......

Glad you're okay Aaron. Were you towing the other car on a trailer or just using a rope or chain? What happened to the other car? Said he was towing a friend for some reason it wrong

Yes I was towing a buddies el Camino over to madras. His car was on a trailer I’ll post a few pics of it. Took my stinger and bent it at the ball 45 degrees

Well luckily I put uhaul insurance on it so probably nothing but who knows….plus my full coverage should cover everything.

Wow that is one wicked crunch…glad you had your belt would of been a different scenario if it didn't hold you in place. Too many of my friends were ejected from vehicles with no belt on. You are one lucky guy all I have to say. Rest up and hope you feel better.

Will you be looking to replace your truck with one similar? With the shortage of vehicles (or if you can find them the $$$) currently I'll be interested to see how your insurance company treats you and your search for it's replacement.

Well I kinda took a look for a replacement and ouch. My truck was a 09 F350 Harley Davidson Edition…..I can’t even touch one similar for what I paid for mine not including the upgrades mine had. Mine was tuned and deleted and other things…. I saw a 2010 HDE with none of the upgrades and they wanted about $6k more than what I spent on mine with the upgrades…..sigh

Well based on my all day conversations with insurance, this is my understanding…..1st I did purchase the extra insurance from uhaul. That insurance covers the damage to the trailer 100%. It does not cover the towing of the trailer by the tow company but my insurance covers that. The uhaul coverage does also cover damages to the towed vehicle but only up to a certain amount based on which coverage you purchase. I believe the one I did pays up to $5000 anything more than that my insurance covers…..

Don't forget the rental car/truck, if you need one. Hopefully that's covered. I would have been screwed. We never pay for the extra insurance, nor are towed vehicles covered under our policies (we're frugal).

We pay tons of money to our insurance company but they have always came through for us. Sure glad you are ok though. Your truck was so sweet too, Just remember they may try to lowball you, and you are within your rights to have an independent appraiser take a look at it.
