According to the service manual as stated in the link Shores provided, it's an O2 sensor error. However according the the manual that should NOT prevent the bike from running.

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you guys, been busy.
The situation on I- 20 had me baffled for a bit but when I got the code cleared and it wouldn't start I dug deeper and found that the fuel line in tank had blown off and tripped the O2 sensor code 68
Replaced the hose, reset the code and all seems to be running smoothly again. The bike only has 2000 miles on it and for it being an 08 it seems to me that there are few things that could go wrong at this point in my roads life simply not enough wear. All the issues I have stem from my tank and the rust. I've searched with no luck and Yamaha wants 1200.00 for a tank, can't afford that so if anyone knows of a tank for man on a budget me and my grandkids would be greatful! Also Mr.Shores your knowledge never ceases to amaze, Thank You

have you tried a product like this or thought about bringing it to a professional dipping service? Here is a video that seems to work good to remove rust.

Great idea! I would definitely try the muriatic acid trick. I would avoid any sort of liner cuz it seems like they usually fail.

I agree on the liner. None of what I posted is a liner. It is all just a cleaner and there are services that will clean rust. A good radiator shop may even be able to do it.

Finding a good radiator shop is like trying to find a good starter/generator shop. In today's age of throw away and replace it seems so many of those have closed shop.

to find a good radiator shop I would look for 1 that specializes in heavy duty truck not auto. You are correct that auto radiator shops may be few with throw away crimped plastic tank radiators.
