  • Contact to the US

I am from Germany and riding a Roadstar XV1700 (VP17). My bike is an import from the US ... XV1700 never was offered in Germany from Yamaha. So I have to order needed parts in the US.

It's not enough to write - sometimes it is better to speak, eg with parts shops Till now I never called and don't know somone in the US. And it is very expensive from my mobile phone. Using a Call by Call number is much cheaper. Since this is a littlebit tricky with our Telephone system I would like to call someone of you nice guys to test my telephone equipment
It does not take you a lot of time (and ofcourse does not cost you anything) - if it's ringing at your phone everything is done, we speak a bit and I know, everything works.

Please write me a private message here in my profile.

    Jo

This absolutely wreaks of a bad idea….! He has never heard of the internet?… he has never heard of messaging?…. He has to speak to someone in the US because his bike was not sold in germany? A local shop does not have the experience to diagnose or repair his bike…? Does he not have any riding buddies that can assist….??

just my opinion….. but this just wreaks of a bad idea..!!!!!

Yes of course, there are lots of Yamaha dealers in Germany - easy to find. The problem is something else:

The main-yamaha-dealer who imported and imports the most of the roadstars which are running in Germany said that most parts for the VP17 are not on stock in Europe - every yamaha-dealer has to order them abroad and it could be much faster and cheaper to order parts yourself.

And I want it fast .... I want to ride

You seem to be one of this nice guys I was looking for: Please speak with me in the first and not in the third person
If you would read some of my my posts here you wouldn't be so unfriendly, I think You would know that it's nealy impossible to find someone in Germany with this model (there are maybe 100-200 of them somewhere and only some repair it themselfes and I don't know one of them), so no buddy with this bike nearby. And I have to find ways to get parts from the US as I wrote.

Hope you misunterstood something and become one of the nice guys

There are only minor differences between 1600 model and 1700 model.

Thanx, I am aware of it. But the part I need at the moment does not fit from 1600 model.

      Ok…. First person reply…..
1.) Is there a yamaha motorcycle dealer in germany….?
      Google shows three…

2.) Do you know about the internet….?
You must because you posted a request on a Roadstar forum.

      3.) Have you heard of “youtube.com” or “google.com”….. ?
I cannot answer that directly for you …. Draw your own conclusions…

4.) Are parts available for the roadstar in germany…?
Three yamaha dealerships in germany, an international number for “partzilla.com” and the ability to access the internet…. That would most likely allow you to obtain parts without contacting a “nice” person in the USA to purchase parts for you….

      5.) am i friendly…..?
Most people i know would affirm this….

      6.) Do i call it like i see it…?
I feel that i can spot a scam or questionable requests pretty effectively on the internet, telephone calls, emails…. Etc…

7.) Have i been known to be wrong….?
Of course…. Just ask my wife…. She can set you straight….

therefore, your unusual request for a personal overseas phone number to “test your phone equipment” wreaks of a BAD IDEA and doesnt pass my “Bullshit!” Meter…..

My reply stands as written and you may consider me a “not nice “ person
