  • Nothing but fun!



    Either rain or old gas got me. Left me stranded not far from my house. Thank God. I'm starting from the tank and working my way to the carb. Praying it's just the fuel pump. I cleaned the tank and it was filthy.

    I'm open to any suggestions to help me. I thought about going pump less but I don't wanna change anything I'm not familiar with. Wish I had a motorcycle mechanic as a buddy. Lol.

    Don't use the "M" word! There are plenty of folks here who can help you out and the knowledge here is way beyond any one at a shop. The carb gurus will respond soon, I have a fuelie.

ID:	120708coming together great. Didn't do a rebuild kit, just cleaned it. Imma rebuild after I get my new bigger jets and 660 grizzly needle valve.

          Alright I cleaned up the carb yesterday and installed. I tried fire it up but it doesn't wanna stay running after I push the enricher back in. I set all the jets back to there original set which was all the way tightened and I didn't touch the float. Just a good cleaning. Any ideas!

            How long are you letting it run before you try to slowly push in the enricher? I would also put at least a gallon of regular 87 octane fuel in the tank.

            I let it sit for like 2 to 4 minutes. Also it was pretty hot out yesterday. It didn't take long for the motor to warm up.

          Also I don't know if I messed up and I don't know why I did it. I put some trufuel in my tank because it was the only fuel I had laying around. I hope I didn't mess something up by doing that.

            get rid of the steel fuel line going between the jugs to the carb. Replace it with rubber fuel injection line. That will help in preventing carb puke. The steel line gets hot and aids in fuel expansion that causes carb puke.

              Did you ride it a significant distance with the enriched on to run fresh fuel through the system? Do so with 1 to 2 ounces of Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner per gal of fuel.

                No I'm afraid to ride it anywhere. Last time it left me stranded 1 miles from the house. Lol.
                I might just have to rebuild the whole carburetor again. Maybe that'll fix my problem. I just don't know why it'll run with the enricher but not with it in. It puzzles me.

                  Did you try turning the idle up just a little? If that doesn't work check the PMS screw but I dout the PMS is the problem.
                  It's not that life is so short, it's just that you're dead for so long.---unknown.

                  If it ran good before this latest issue with fuel or rain, doesn’t seem like rebuilding carb is necessary. Won’t hurt to ride it back and forth in your neighborhood for 30 minutes or so to get the Techron treated fuel through the entire system and give it time to work. “Don’t think too hard. You’ll hurt the team,”

                    Well the Sasquatch is back on the road. I went ahead and ripped the carb apart again incase I missed something. Yep, I missed something, I mixed up the Starter Jet and the Main Jet. I cleaned the carb again and reinstalled everything and she fired up like Frankenstein. Thank God.
                    I hate the "M" word but I almost pulled the trigger on having one come look at it this weekend. I just got back from a 1hr hard ride and she did better than she did before. So releaved.
