Dude must have really wanted to get back in the wind. Hmmm...wait for the part to arrive while the sun beckons, or grab a spoon and roll on? Where’s the milk?

When I make gaskets, I use Lucky Charms.

Would have been Much better off using just permatex ulra Gray sealant.... That stuff is the best I've used.... Truly don't "need" a gasket if you use that stuff correctly. The paper was soaked through with oil... If it just had yamabind it would have been fine... Paper just gets wet and drips.

It was The Partridge Family-Family Album.

    Hahaha!

I’ll admit I’ve hammered out more gaskets that I care to remember. I see no harm. They work great. I’ll admit he did go a bit overboard with the sealant. I noticed it came off in one piece, too. That’s a plus.

Hey, that's the standard gasket material when replacing a raw water pump impeller.

A lot cheaper than the gasket paper from the local parts store AND you get a snack

Gotta admit, though, nice job on cutting that gasket.

I used an album cover once. It was The Partridge Family-Family Album. No great loss. Didn't leak though, did your Cheerio's box leak? Looks like someone used Yamabond on it. That is some great shit. I used some to seal the cases on my 1958 Sportster and it actually did.

Good thing they didn't use a Wheaties box, it might have transformed itself into a diaphragm.

By golly I've heard of some shade tree/redneck fixes before....but never a Cheerios box for a gasket. Have to file that under the "when I'm desperate for gasket material...".

started a topic Cheerio box gasket. Seriously.

    Cheerio box gasket. Seriously.

Working on red bike... Set the valves... Noticed the gasket on crankcase cover looked weird. Removed and found this. The PO used a Cheerio cereal box to cut out a gasket and then a shit ton of Grey gasket maker. WTF is wrong with people??
